Re: Alloy Radiators
Give Norm at Aussie Desert Cooler a yell mate, I just had him make a 4 core brass/copper unit for my big block powered pickup cost me $570. A full Aluminium Street and Strip radiator was priced at $750.00. Had to make some small modifications to mount it but well worth it considering that all the other Chev parts guys wanted $750 for a standard unit. Works great had it out the other day idling in traffic for 30 minutes at 160 degrees F on a 35 degrees C day. All he needs is some basic dimensions of the factory unit and he will fab it up. I highly recomend him.

Re: Alloy Radiators
An Aussie helping an Aussie on a US forum. Funny. Thanks buddy, I know him so I will go see him. I was just browsing in the US and they seem to be cheaper but I think post will be a killer. Whats done to your big block??

Re: Alloy Radiators
Yeah it is funny isn't it. On of the other guys pointed out a deal on US ebay for like $600 US for an aluminium unit so currency conversion and postage would kill I think. Engine hasn't had much done to it, brought it from J.T Imports in Melbourne fully reconditioned last year. Its a 1990 Gen IV complete with the peanut port heads only mod from stock is a mild cam. Was running well until I put the oil pump pickup through the side of the sump last weekend (wasn't brazed to the pump, rotated and slapped the counterweight and bang). Should get it back together this weekend hopefully no permanent damage. Its running on straight gas and coupled to a T400 followed out by 4.56 gears. Its not the fastest ride around but its still good enough to be able to smoke 33" x 12.5" tyres and accelerates well enough to get me in some trouble considering i've been a bit lazy and haven't got off my P's yet. Should go even better once i've swapped in the gear vendors I have in my cupboard. I'll see how it goes with that and a set of 31" tall tyres. Should be awsome then say 5000 rpm redline = 120mph + with haul the mall ability down low. I'm determined at the moment to stop spending money on making it go faster, and finish off the bodywork.

Re: Alloy Radiators
Mines factory fitted 402. I've bored it to 408 and ported the factory oval port heads. I've got a hyd roller in it and hopefully it will make high 400hp's. I'm building my chassis up atm. Looking into a straight gas system. Measuered up for a tank today, should fit a 200lt tank in there pretty easy. What carb set up you using?
