Re: getting my truck today
not much going on with the truck lately, been helping my brother do some renovation. i did cover up a few of the holes on the drivers side of the firewall, stripped the dash and primered it, and have most of the door jams cleaned and primered. i have some nasty rust at the top of the windsheild area im almost done repairing. going to go look at a 69-70 swb truck today, no title but looking at for the chassis and drive train, if its in decent shape i will keep what i need and just sell off the body parts. will get pics either today yet or tomorrow after i hit a small local swapmeet

Re: getting my truck today
Keep it and go with the 6. They go forever and it'll look more factory. Sometimes I wish I would've kept the 6 in mine. Just my .02

Re: getting my truck today
unless you have the th350, i would go with a 700r4. overdrive will help with gas mileage and allow highway cruising at lower rpms

well im trading my buddy the PG for the 350 , even has a shift kit installed. he wants the PG for his 65 nova which was mine at one time. when i go for a rear im gonna look for something like 308's. plus i alreay have a couple of tilt columns here to work with so no need to have to buy another one

Re: getting my truck today
There are plenty of ways to get more hp out of your 6. The stovebolt site will help you out with that.

Re: getting my truck today
go to webrodder.com - they have a large series (maybe 5 or 6) of detailed articles on chevy inline 6 engine rebuild and update for performance. really good articles.

Re: getting my truck today
its been ahwile since an update been busy with a few things around the house but did tinker alittle on the truck been working on the frame doing a couple things, tacked in a new crossmember for the upper shock mount, replacing the 9" of the frame cuz of a bunch of oblong holes and the ends are alittle bent, also removed the trans crossmember and clutch assembly, and did set the 250/auto trans in the frame and getting started on the mounts. went to a local swap meet again today and was talking to a guy that has a 58 fleetside for sale, he wants 2500.00 for it. comes with new cab corners, inside and outside door handles, new front park lenses, windsheild rubber and wiper bezels, hood emblem and fender spears. im going to go look at it tomorrow just for the heck of it even tho i can t afford it, i will snap some pics of the truck and my frame

Re: getting my truck today
cool project! i was surprised at your choice on front brakes, it's been 30 years since i did a swap like that using 53'-54' passenger car hardware. with all the reasonable disc kits why keep the drums? i realize it's your truck just curious. keep the pic's coming.

Re: getting my truck today
while tinkering around with the truck, just for the heck of it i messed with the brakes and they worked but figured i better ckeck them all out to see what everything looks like behind the drums and its all new so why change and spend the extra money at this time, only thing i am going to do is change to a duel master cylinder

Re: getting my truck today
i will try to get pics tomorrow, but been working on the truck a fair amount in the past week, i picked up a rear out of a chevelle. have it up on top of the springs which brings it down really nice. since i did the flip and will need shorter shocks, who has some suggestions on what i should or need to get. i will be pulling 2 springs out of the front to get it down alittle. also got the passenger side inner and outer cab corner in place along with some other areas of the rear floor section where the gas tank sits, and rear cab mounts. then sat the cab back on frame tonite, looks good to me. again hope to have some pics tomorrow nite
