long tube headers w/frame Z
i was wondering if regular long tube headers will stay tucked up with a 2 1/2 inch Z. anyone know?

doesnt a z raise the engine? seems like long tubes would same height as shorties on a stock frame

Correct unless the drivetrain is not raised the same amount as the 'Z' (modified motor-mounts etc....). If the long tubes were 2" below the frame rail & you do a 2" 'Z', they're now flush w/the frame rail (provided there's no new interference w/the firewall when moving the drivetrain up).

well i guess I should thought it out.. the headers that came on the truck were about 2" below the frame before we started the "Z". But if i would left them on the truck I think they woulda gone right in the the trans linkage? or mostlikey hit the firewall?

i have a 2 7/8 z and my longtubes still hang down about an inch.
