Info Needed on this '62 Stepside Please

I've got a drooling problem. Aside from that, if anyone has any pictures and/or details on this truck, please share them with me. Thanks.

I'm not new to forums, but I am new to this board so I apologize is posts like these are frowned upon.

Regards, -Justin

Re: Info Needed on this '62 Stepside Please

Thanks Chav! The bed was off of a 63' so I have been looking for a rear sill and all the rest to fit a 60-62 X-frame. I finally found them and should arrive 1st part of next week. get them sand blasted primed and Pre fit the bed, before going to the body shop, for final massage, lead filling of the seams and paint.

while all that is being done I will be busy fitting the SS Rear tank, Headers and exhaust. The wife and I need to head North and take in your Band and toss back some cold ones this summer.

later!

Wow bud, nice truck. That goes without sayin'. By what you are saying, do you mean cutting in and welding an '86 front clip? Or do all the suspension parts just bolt up? Excuse my ignorance.

Thanks Spoon! as Joe231 was eluding to the front crossmember is a direct bolt in ('cept 1 or 2 holes you have to drill).

This provides (at least for me) for instant front disk, coil springs, etc. there are vendors that have disk kits and drop spindles for these trucks (60-62) but I also found I wanted the capability to rebuild the front end easily with more updated parts (Moog HD) and the capability to grab a 1 1/4 sway bar off a 3/4 ton 80's model dually and just bolt it straight in. (which it has )

There are many different ways to go from point A to Point B this is the one I choose and best fit my expense account, others on here are much more crafty and exotic (my hats off to them).

Yeah Joe, I checked them out, found some original completley clean, no rust straight pieces and purchased the whole lot less than I could have from Mark-K. Thanks for the heads-up though. will take them into the shop when the arrive sand blast them get them into primer and put them with the rest going to the body shop.
