Horn problem part 2
Ok part 1 is here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=278525 which I thought was a bad horn from my truck. Well I got a new one and same thing. I plug in the horn and it just goes click coming from the horn relay. I have a new horn relay that I was going to install later and it did the same thing. Steering wheel is a grant 967 and I have the correct kit. If anyone has any ideas on how I can get this horn to work then post away.
Thanks

Re: Horn problem part 2
Had the same problem. I took the horn out to check it. I rigged it to wire it directly to the battery. Your horn should have just one connector. The bolt on the mount to the frame should be the ground. I sanded it down real good and placed a wire on the ground side and clamped it to the neg. terminal. Then I touched the other wire to + side of the battery...
At the time I did this, I did not have my meter with me so I couldn't check to see if I was actually getting voltage to the horn itself. Found out my horn was bad. Had to buy new one. |

Oh, forgot to mention... The new horn was also defective. I wound up having to get one from NAPA.. Happened many years ago, so don't remember the brand.

Re: Horn problem part 2
If the relay is clicking your horn button sounds like it is working, if the horn works hooking it directly to the battery I would check and see if your have 12V in the power wire to the relay.
