What is the cost for baggin?
I'm getting a standard lowering kit for my 64 c20 lwb (3" front, 4" rear) but I saw a sweet '70 longbed sitting on the ground front and back today. Those of you who have done this what is the realistic price of getting my frame on the ground; including everything (i live in an apartment so labor would have to factor in.) I know I the prices will be all over the board but I just want a ballpark. Thanks!

If you want to get your frame on the ground, there will be a lot more work than just the airbag system. You would need to install a step notch in the back. Your inner fenders and wheel tubs would need to be modified and/or removed. The bed of the truck would have to be raised, etc, etc, etc...
If you wanted to install bags and slam it to within 6-8 inches off the ground, you would only need to have a c-notch installed, replace your coil springs with air bags, run some air line and find a place for your tank and compressor. To start with, you could even eliminate the tank and compressor and install schrader valves to raise and lower the vehicle. You would have to inflate/deflate the system manually but I have seen 12V 200psi portable compressors for under 200 bucks that you could use out on the road and avoid having to stop at a gas station. To answer your first question, you could probably buy a complete system with bags, brackets, c-notch a small tank and entry level compressor for under $1500.

Just to give you an idea of labor.....I would charge a board member anywhere from $500-1000 labor to install a "basic" kit.....custom c-notched and other work would be extra.
Anyone else would be $1000 on up for a "basic" install. I'm sure you could find someone in town or Fresno to hook you up. Otherwise, come see me !! - - - -

ChiefRocka- How good of luck are you having with the Viair 480s? I have been seeing them a lot recently. I have 2 380s on my S-10 and have been thinking about a upgrade.

Realistically' your probably looking at around 2000-2500+/- to farm out the work.
Also, I don't know what kind of luck I'm gonna have here, but ditch those Viairs. I used to run two 380's. I didn't snap the rod on them, but one of the rods didd fall off the crank and killed that one. I now run one Air Zenith with a five gallon tank and LOVE it! Once you try a Zenith, everything else sucks except mabe an Oasis. |

I have heard multiple times that the Air Zenith are not having too good of luck.... They have had so many problems with them I refuse to buy one.

Wow! Guess my p.o.s. computer got a bit carried away there! So far I have run the crap out of my Zenith. Not one single bit of trouble. I use so much air, that the thing hardly ever shuts off! It never even gets warm. Besides, now they have the OB1x, which has an improved head and integrated cooling fan.
