1. What color is the smoke.
2. Is it out both pipes or just one. 3. Is it all the time, or only under acceleration? What about heavy loads like driving up a steep hill? ------------------ '69 3/4 ton C20 2wd w/ 350ci/400THM and a wood bed! Sounds like you're burning oil.
Your head(s) may need valve work. Valves seals are letting oil into the cumbustion chamber, and is burning up with the fuel. That involves pulling the head and taking it somewhere to have it done unless you know how, or you get a new head. The other thing could be that your rings in your pistons are not sealing right to the cylinder wall, and oil is being thrown up from the crank. I don't know if this could even happen, but if it were the case then you'd be loosing compression on the offending cylinders, which means you'd be loosing power. Come to think of it if it's happening on acceleration then your valves are probably the culprit. Highest compression and highest oil pressure... I guess I'm assuming this is a V8, but is it a straight 6? If not then is the smoke comming out both tailpipes? ------------------ '69 3/4 ton C20 2wd w/ 350ci/400THM and a wood bed! Pull the plugs and note the condition of each one and where it came from. Pay close attention to the back 4 cylinders if its a V8.
You'll be able to tell alot of whats going on by how the plugs look. If you see a suspicous looking plug, take a shot of it and post it ------------------ Pictures and more... piston@zkast.com '71 LWB 350/350T, PS/PB Special options? Yes, RUST... These guys are right.....and/or the heads must be in need of a good machining. Have the pistons checked in the block (I think thats what they are called). The heads of the Pistons may be worn. This would then lead to an overhaul, like my 307. But then I don't know a whole lot, so go to these other guys for more detailed advise.

Could be that your Valve Seals are worn out but if you are going to take your heads off you might as well have New Valve Guides and have a complete valve job done to the heads. Also before you do pull the heads, check to make sure that your plugs are not fauled and then also do a compression check because if you are going to take the heads off, you might as well (depending on how many miles is on your block) do new rings and bearings!!
