A-Arm adjustment

I have completely rebuilt the front end of my 67.
Added CPP dropped spindle and springs and all new tie rods.

I replaced the cross shafts top and bottom, and am having a hard time getting them to thread completely in.
One side may be a 1/4-1/2" for all the way in , and the other maybe 1/4" out each side.

Of the 4, I have only the passenger lower where it should be.
Is there any correct way of doing this besides trial and error?

Feel free to call with advice, 713-899-7627, cause I am working on it now.

Thanks for the help,
Mike
