Gas Pedal option?
Hey Everyone!
Is there something out there to replace the gas pedal that mounts on the pivot "balls" on the floor? Something that can be bolted or welded to the existing throttle rod? Any ideas or pictures of what you have done? Not sure I want to change everything out for a Locar (SP?) type and was wondering if there was something easy and functional to do.

I believe they used cable instead of a rod through. I have one out of a 72 I'm saving for my truck for "someday." Never gone so far as to see what needs to be done to add it.

Re: Gas Pedal option?
You can adapt the 71 to 87 cable throttle assembly to work on the 67-70 (throttle rod) trucks as referenced in the afore mentioned posts, but you will need to change some things on the intake/carb, as well as have the cable and cable type pedal assembly to make the conversion.
You could alwasy just run without the pedal, but it's not the best way to get rid of the floor mounted pedal.

Re: Gas Pedal option?
I don't see why not. It may take some experimenting but I think something could be done.

Re: Gas Pedal option?
To adapt the 71 style to the 70 and older cabs it is necessary to modify the firewall if changing over the whole setup. On my 69 cab I cut the 69 rod and welded the section of a 71 style rod to it. I left the accelerator rod as it was. Here is a picture of the pedal that I ended up with. The weld area can be seen in the pic.
