Restoration packets
Well on one of the threads i heard mention of this and a quick search came up with a link to http://www.73-87.com/ Lots of good info about the packet its self but i was just wondering if it goes into and certain details. I emaild chevy and they have no yet replied but the packet seems to have good info or so i am told. Because i gave them my vin wil they include an RPO style sheet for my truck? or will they have just a giant list? I am kinda looking forward to getting one and seeing what it has. so i am wondering if it will be the same old info or anything new. Also i don't have my RPO sheet in my glove box so any info they can give me toward that would be great! I know my truck came stick with a 305 but that is about all i know for sure. I am guessing the trans is stock as well as the rear but am not 100%
thanks for the input 84 400

Re: Restoration packets
oh no now i am worried.... went on car fax .com and did one of them free checks and got 5 hits but it does not tell me anything else. Seems crazy to me to pay a fee like 20 beans to learn what it says. I have no idea what it considers a report. Hmm 5 i wonder what all that means i still have the original owners warentee packet and i know it was a TX truck its whole life. I also know it was sold at a dealership that must of gone outta business. and i also know the origina owners address is now a parking lot (google map).
I wonder what was on those 5 hits. I also wonder if the original owner is still around. would be cool to talk to him about the truck over the phone and tell him were it is now. maybe kinda weird though. So any ways what does car fax consider a report? thanks again

Re: Restoration packets
A report is anything from warranty work to registration renewals to ownership changes. Most of the time it's pretty much nothing, but it sure makes you want to spend the $20, doesn't it?

Re: Restoration packets
just becuase the truck was wrecked, doesnt mean they reported it to carfax, the 84 monte we bought my mom with 33k miles, had 33k miles, but must of been wrecked to the point of extenctsion before we got it. So dont waste the money. Oh ya, the carfax was clean. go figure
