Door swap question.....
I gotta question.. I am going to change the doors on my 84 silverado this weekend.. My question is, is there a plug in the kick panel I unplug or do I gotta pull the harness from inside the door out.. Also the little rubber accordian that the wires pass through in the jam is riveted in place... DO I just drill the rivets out and pop some new rivits in when I put it back together????

Re: Door swap question.....
ive always unplugged the wires from the accessories in the door and if you have the thing riveted id pop them out and screw it back in case you ever have to take it apart again

Re: Door swap question.....
when i just recently swaped doors, i just took the wiring harness out of the door and drilled the rivets out and installed self taping screws.

Re: Door swap question.....
Self tapping screws are a wonderful invention! I'd probably go that route too, and avoid rivets.
