New Japanese 69-72 Suburbans!
Check these out! I see a '69 on the left and a '72 on the right!?
Here's the link to the story: http://jalopnik.com/384706/the-japan...-american-iron

Those are cool! A lot of good craftsmanship went into building those. I'd drive one!

Re: New Japanese 69-72 Suburbans!
Wow, I'm not sure what to think about those. A part of me thinks they are very cool, another part of me doesn't like them at all.
I gotta give the builders an A+ for ingenuity and skill. I'd like to see these in person before I really made up my mind.

What the heck. At nearly $4 per gallion I'd park it in the garage.

Re: New Japanese 69-72 Suburbans!
While there is no substitute for the original, I would still gladly drive it. They did a better job of doing a retro version of that than chevy did with the HHR (based off of a 50 suburban? Yeah right!) With gas currently at almost $3.30 a gallon and estimated to be around $6-8 in one to two years I could see those selling very well.

Does this make us icons too? Or, maybe just trend setters...

Re: New Japanese 69-72 Suburbans!
Sorry guys, all I have to say about these imitations is
They look like a satirical put down of a classic truck to me. I'll drive real ones. Later---DAC

Re: New Japanese 69-72 Suburbans!
I'm wondering where the show was. Didn't hear anything about it down here, but thats no surprise. Last car show I knew of was in Fukuoka but that was back in Feb. Anyone know where the show was?
