Jetting foe Edelbrock 1406
Bought a used Edelbrock 1406 from a guy in Colorado,elevation 6500ft.
My elevation is about 600ft above sea level,Ontario,Canada He had it jetted and working well for his elevation. Just wondering where I should start as far as jets go. Carb is not for my Blazer it's for a future project.

Re: Jetting foe Edelbrock 1406
If he gave you the original jets/rods/springs that came in it new, I'd put those back in it. If not, try to find a manual and use the tuning info in the back. I wouldn't hesitate to get the calibration kit, it has a large selection of jets/rods/springs and you can get it dialed in pretty quickly once you have it installed and running.

Re: Jetting foe Edelbrock 1406
Thanks boys,
I do have the owners manual and was also looking at the one on Edelbrocks site after I had posted. Some great info. there. I havn't torn into the carb yet so I don't know what jets are in there.I'm sure they are alot leaner than I need. Unfortunately he did not send the stock jets etc.

Re: Jetting foe Edelbrock 1406
Do the colors of the springs fade?
I tore the carb apart to get the jet #'s(hard to see BTW) and the step-up spring is the natural steel color no hint of the stock set-up yellow. The main and secondaries jets were the stock .098(main) and .095(secondary) Metering rod was also stock with a # 7547 stamped on it. Here are a couple pic's. Pretty clean unit. Here's the metering rod. Main jet, really hard to read the numbers.I used a magnafying glass to decode the numbers. Secondary jet.

Yes. And they can also lose their temper over time and compression. A new spring kit, p/n EDL 350- 1464 [multiple colors] would give you fresh springs and tuning options for $8 at Jegs.
