I need to find out which sending unit to use for sure....I have one in there that the morons who helped me put in and it just registers the same temp all the time. So I need to find out which one to use.
Even the guys at the Parts shop didnt know haha!! Imagine that.

You didn't go to the dreaded Autozone did you? They are *ickheads in ours. They don't know a timing chain from a tailpipe. I always go to Kragens. Ummm... It depends on the year. Go to a different auto supply store?

Don't you have a stock gauge? Does it have a temp rating on the max? I would bet that it's a electrical style. Sounds like a time to upgrade to a new guages.

Does it move once you turn the ignition off? If you let it cool, then turn it back on does it move? If the gauge moves slightly (less then 1mm): it is bad. If it moves a 1mm or 2mm or more, it is probably the sender.

Oh yeah ... It moves....Goes down to nothing when its off then when started immediately goes to mid range and stays there.
