Re: Replacing Power Window Switch
well pop off the door panel there is a screw on thing holding on the wires and then you compress the clips on the switch and pop it out install is reverse of the above
you can prolly reach it if you unscrew the door panel and reach up

Re: Replacing Power Window Switch
The first thing I would to is "hot wire" the motor, to be sure it works.
You will have to take the door panel apart, to gain access to the motor, for the rest of this. The connector that plugs into the side of the motor has 2 wires. In "normal" position of the switch (centered = off) neither of these wires is hot or grounded. The motor itself is insulated from ground too. Make yourself a "temporary" harness.... two wires with female "spade" connectors. Plug them into the motor and touch them to something like jumper cables or a battery charger. (Not directly to a battery, this can cause a spark/explosion) One goes to "hot 12v" and the other to ground, it doesn't matter which is which. If nothing happens...reverse the wires. One way is up, the other down. If you get nothing either way, the motor itself is bad. I never assume that "new" parts are good...your switch in this case. Being sure that the motor itself works is key to trouble shooting. This is even more complicated on the passenger's side because there are two switches that make it work. Taking the switches, wiring, fuses, relays, etc out of the mix will steer you in the right direction. |

Re: Replacing Power Window Switch
Hmmm good advice thanks. The weird thing is I can tap (hard) on the door panel (just above the handle to open the door) while holding the switch and it will go up and down but it's kind of jerky when it does.
