Unhappy It looks like I may be selling my Blazer

I have not made the final decision yet, but it looks like I may need to sell off my Blazer. Due to the downturn in the housing market, our plant is making another round of lay offs. This time I am losing close to a dollar an hour and getting my hours cut back. With us moving and needing the money to fix our old house up for sale, I need to sell my Blazer for the extra cash. This is killing me and the wife, but we really don't see any other way right now. If I sell it, I plan on putting on the board classified and local craigslist, but would appreciate any other ideas. I may add more info later, but thanks for listening.

Don't you have an extra kidney or something to sell instead? Bummer. I hope it works out for you.

Sorry to hear about your trouble but cars can be replaced. Your family needs a place to live and it sounds like that is the best move for you for now. Hope it all works out.

I hope you can work out keeping it.But,a man`s gotta do what a man`s gotta do,right?I`m dying in this economy. My inventory has been drastically reduced. At least I spent my money on something I could sell and not interest or crap Chinese consumer products.
I hope it gets better soon. This is turning out to be life changing for me.

Best luck to you.

I feel your pain...I am a self employed plumber and 90% of our business for the last 8 years has been new construction...you know where this is going.
Anyways, good luck to everyone. Ablazn, hopefully it will all work out for you.

Hang in there as when one door closes, another always opens but you got to look for it. Selling toys is always a PITA, but, time will come when you can buy them again. I had similar situations over the years and now when money isn't an issue~~~age is!! Family first, health before wealth---. Dump the junk and before you know it, things will allow it to return. Huck

Re: It looks like I may be selling my Blazer

Unfortunately, tough times are upon us. There are quite a few guys selling their toys right now. If I win the lottery, I'd buy every one of them. (note to self, buy lottery tickets).

In your case, think of it more like pawning it off. Hopefully this time it won't take 22 years to get it back though.

Re: It looks like I may be selling my Blazer

Not a good idea in every case but...... What about borrowing enough money against your blazer to fix up the house. When ya sell it pay the note off. Its worked for me in the past. If you really want to keep it, it may work. Good luck to ya.

Good luck whatever you decide. Hope things get better.

I have been out of work for a year. I keep hearing another couple of weeks. Another couple of months and mine might be for sale also!

Re: It looks like I may be selling my Blazer

Well I ran some numbers this last weekend, and things do not look good for keeping my truck. My figures are that I will be lose about 33 percent of my pay when all is said and done. I will need to see a couple of pay checks to see where the lower tax bracket will land me, but things are going to be really tight around here. I do have some money saved up that I was going to use to work on the Blazer that I am going to use part of to buy a cheap economy car. My current DD gets 12 mpg and is killing me just for normal driving. The Blazer only cost me about $150 a year to keep registered and insured right now, so I will not be in a hurry to give it away. Thanks for the support and understanding, I know that everyone is feeling the crunch right now too.

Dude, dont sell it. It may seem a little bleek right now, but things seem to work out right in the end. Mario.
