Aftermarket lower control arms.. do I need them on my bagged truck??
I am just working on the front of my '67 chevy c10, and I have searched and read a lot about how my RE7's will rub when using just cups set into the front lower control arms.. should they be welded in or just set in?
would it be better to get aftermarket control arms.. who makes good ones for bagged trucks? I also have 2.5 ece drop spindles, I have also read that some control arms will not work with drop spindles, is this also true? some advice would be great!!

No need to weld in your cups. Your bag will not rub unless you cut too much of your cups off. I dod cut the bump stop bracket off though. I measured mine to give me about 1/4" clearance when fully deflated. I swapped to '73+ style arms for better clearance, but if I were to do it again I would spring for the tubular arms.
The control arms that will not work with drop spindles are dropped control arms, but you wouldn't use those on something with bags anyway.

Look at their tubular control arms. One of the biggest issues with using stock CA is the angle that the ball joint sits at, these arms compensate for the change in angle. Also they have a lot more alignment settings. Stock contol arms are built for static stock suspension, if you have bags, and you actually want to drive the truck get the ART's. |
