Went to a junkyard in the middle of nowhere yesterday to look at a 67 GMC. The guy had mostly Mopars, but there was some decent stuff. He ended up buying the truck, good deal on it too. The cab is in great shape and it has a running 305 V6 in it. How scarce are parts to that, and was it a good engine?
First few pics are of the truck and then I'll post all the others I took.

oh yeah...it was a good 30 miles off the nearest highway, and I was getting a little nervous. I told my buddy that if the owner says anything about us have purty mouths, then we were getting out of there fast

Check out some of the MOPAR pickups & especially the camper beside the blue school bus for possible bucket seat "clones."

That wrecker is "off the Hook" so to speak.Looks like a cool old yard.I'll throw a guess out there.It's 30 miles off the hiway,that's why there are so many cool old rides there.

the V-6 motors were awesome in there day. It is roumored that GM killed the engine becouse it was too good and the dealers weren't making any money working on them.

man what a yard.. a junkyard i got to has several o fthe V6 gmc's.. almost bought one for a 60 chevy i had, but i figured it would be hard to get parts for... ive heard they are great motors for pulling, i guess they got some torque..

I was there about 12 years ago. Just make sure you have your walking shoes on. Big place. I would go in the early Spring or in the Fall after all the bushes and weeds die off. Also, in the summer, that place has many bee nests inside those old vehicles. He has some old iron though and is really easy to deal with. Worth the drive.

rustbuster i was just over at leons couple months ago and 70 gmc is right wait till the weeds snakes and bees go away lol and chiggers too. he has about 10 of our old trucks but pretty much been picked apart thou, if you get there b4 8 you can stay in there all day, i belive he said something about closing at lunch and noone there to let ya out lol, he gives ya a map and youll need it too, huge place with lots of old cars all types.

yep im sure youll be safe around nov. on his yard directions it clearly states that at closing time he turns the dogs loose lol. but a very nice guy . good luck, where in va are ya?
