Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
WOW! HUGE improvement. Those late model wheels look great on there. Now that the truck is a dark color you might consider a lighter color for the grill...

Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
The steering wheel is tilt...came with the truck, although when i got it, it was loose as a goose.
The seats and center console are long gone...I put in a 40/20/40 bench the other day. I will have the cup holder and stuff mounted back up, don't have a pic right now, but will update.(see pics below) I have the center caps, but the problem is that they need dual threaded lugs. the ones with treads on the outside to screw the plastic bolts from the center caps on to. I have the lugs, but they don't fit the treads my truck...and i haven't been able to find the right lugs...i could change the threads but that is a lot of work for center caps. I don't mind the acorn i have on there now. maybe down the line i will do it, but as of know it is low on the list. I want to find a Phantom Billet grill...but funds are low at the moment. Here are some pics of the engine before and after i cleaned it. Since these pictures i have added an electric fan and better air box with tube for fresh air, and an edelbrock 600cfm. (i will post that tomorrow...i don't have the truck with me right now).

Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
Keep up the great work! I agree with N2TRUX, you might try a lighter metallic silver on the grille. If ya don't like it you can always paint it back dark.

Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
Time and Cost. Those are hard things to quantify since i don't keep very good records...i don't know if i want to know the actual total.
I got the truck in Feb of this year, and work on it at least 2 or 3 days a week sometimes for a few hours sometime a few minutes. I would guess well over 100 hours...I should add that i loved every second of it. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went in to that thing. Cost...well the truck itself was $400, the paint turned out to be about $500 with body work and all, 250 for the carb, 100 for the wheels. so in big stuff i have about $1250. then you have to add in all of the cans of spray paint, cleaning products, chemicals. I would guess about another $200 there. All of the odds and ends i picked up at the junk yard (including windshield and 2 different bench seats) about another 300 or so. new fuel and water pump...$60. Probably about $2000...most likely more. But the fact that it was spread out over the last 5-6 months doesn't make it seem like that much.

Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
I wish i had kept a list of everything i did to it...I have about 500 pictures chronicling the whole thing.
Next to come...a very mild lowering and leveling. One of my buddies dropped his 1/2 with shackles and heating the front springs, it looks real nice and clean. You can tell is is lowered but still has the utility of a truck. I was considering doing a flit kit but i realized i don't want it slammed, and i need two be able to haul around two motorcycles. I also want to put an H pipe in...although that might take a little time because i want to find a 2 1/2 duel exhaust set up at the junk yard first. For some reason the PO had 1 3/4 pipes on there. As long as I'm dreaming...I would like to find a nice cheap used performer intake. Once i find that I'm going to put new valve gaskets in too. (mine leak a little bit right now).

Re: Pics...from the beginning too today.
Man, I keep thinking of other things i want/need to do.
Get the A/C working is pretty high on the list. So it getting the speedo working. I have tested the cable with a drill and it works. I have replaced the gear that comes out of the tranny...still nothing. I'm guessing it is probably the gear inside the tranny...but don't really know how to deal with that. Any ideas?

I don't know what the seat is out of, i found it in the junk yard in a C-10. It has a custom mounting bracket so it fit right in. I asked around about dying the seat belts and it sounds like they get stiff and don't retract well if you do. but if i could find a good dye that didn't do that i would give it a shot.
