Yep, it sucks. I am really pissed at my web host. I have 25 gigs of bandwidth and I guess the videos used it all. I don't think 25 gigs is a small amount.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do right now. I know for sure I'm not buying more bandwidth. This is getting to be a lot more trouble than it's worth. I don't make a thing off my site, it only costs me. You think you have all the bases covered, and then this crap pops up. I'm starting to wish I had just folded up shop long ago. Having a web site, which before I forget, is not gigantic, is a lot of work. I get a ton of emails a day. I answer each and every one of them. Then there is constant upgrades to the site. It takes all my free time. It's like I don't time for anything else anymore. I spend more time on the computer than I do anything. I'm just really dishearted right now. I need time to think about what I want/need to do. Sorry Eddie. I never dreamed this would happen. Always something biting me in the ass it seems.

perhaps you should take the vids down, and just leave the site alone for a while with only minor updates?

It's not web space. I've got 1000 megs of space and unlimited traffic. The bandwidth is the kicker.
I don't think I could ever run out of space. My whole site only uses a little over 55 megs of space. This bandwidth thing is really griping me though. I'm going to contact them again about it tomorrow and see what I can do and what the cost is. Damn, it's always something, ain't it?

Mike= You might talk to Piston. I know he does web server accounts and may have a better deal than your server company now.

Mike
there you have it Jon.......another reason to keep it running.
I run in to his web site when I got my truck. I was very impressed. I had his truck as a wallpaper on my computer at work for a long time........that's what I wanted my truck to look like......untill I started seeing how much money I would need to spend to make it look like that Today, whenever I see something interesting, I send picture to work and keep it on my computer for day or two. Its fun ! Today I had madchemist's truck with bed tonnau as a gas saving idea. I am learning from all of you a lot ! Thank you. Wojo rusty 75C10 |

I agree Mike dont shut down the site. If its a money thing Im sure you could get alot of people to donate a dollar or two, which would help a ton. I know Id send you a few bucks to keep it going.

Who said anything about shutting down? I'm trying to get a handle on things. I'm calling tonight and talk to my hosting company to see what my next line of defense is.

I think some people read a bit too far into your first response.

LMAO! Yeah, I think I am the resident web site slacker. Let me offer some excuses;
I have all the pictures of my truck on my home computer. My home computer is still at my parent's house since I'm not sure where to put it at my house. I go to my parent's house about once a month. My truck is at my Dad's shop instead of my garage, hard to take pictures of things. Even if the truck was in my garage, I'd have to take the digital camera to my parent's house to upload the pictures. I had all my files organized and was running Windows 98. I recently upgraded to Windows XP which royally jacked everything up (including not being able to use 90% of my programs) so I'm still hunting for most of the pics I had on my old website. As any experienced slacker should, I have excuses!
