Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.
I never went in to the actual show. All of my shots were taken on the streets of Pigeon Forge. It does seem like everyone has a for sale sign...it's gotten to the point where it's almost a joke.
My ride was in this set of pictures. It's the Daytona blue 350Z that I shot from the balcony. It get's about double the gas mileage of anything else in the yard, so it's how we were rollin that weekend. |

This year was my first time going to this show and it is a great time. Me and my brother-in-law were there for most of the week and we brought a 1937 Chevy truck and a 1964 Corvette he built to put in the show.

Those are both sweet! Don't tease us with just two pictures! Show us some more and fill us in with some details!

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.
My brother-in-law finally got tired of working for other people about 10 years ago and being a full on gear head decided to make his passion a full time job by opening a full service street rod shop just north of Birmingham, AL.... The 64 Corvette was a full restoration he did about 4-5 years back and the 37 is a 2 year old build for a very good client of his.
The 64 was a full on heap when it was brought into the shop but it was an all numbers matching 327 car. The guy that brought it to him wanted it restored and wanted it as soon as possible which took about 10 months time total I think to complete the restoration. The only change made to the car was to the engine's top end, the customer wanted a little more power so he wanted Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake and carb. He still has the original heads, intake and carb.

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.
The 37 was an old farm truck that was found in Texas a few years back by one of his clients that wanted to build a custom ride. He was lucky as all of the sheet metal was in great shape but the truck's frame was shot. My brother-in-law built a custom frame with ladder link rear setup that features a Currie 9" with a 3.50 gear, the front suspension is a modified Heidts. The engine is a late model 330 HP crate engine and it has a TH350 TCI trans. The wheels are Albas 20x9 in the front and 22x10 in the rear. The truck is setup really nice and drives like a dream. We get to show it all of time .....
I have a slide show running of before and now running on his website @ http://gamelstreetrods.com
