i think the front mount stays in the same location on the 56s and the rear gets moved back.

Nope,
the shackle stays put and the hanger is different. On a 52" spring the axle locating pin is in the center (26" either way). On a 56" spring it is 26" from rear and 30" from front. ------------------ Mike 1985 Chevy C-10 Mike's 73-87 Chevy Pickup Site [This message has been edited by swervin ervin (edited 05-28-2001).]

You sure Ervin?
My 1-ton measures 26" from front eye to pin, and 30" from pin to rear eye.

Whoops! Excuse my dumbness. U2 you are correct. I have been through so much lately with my leaf springs I turned it around in my mind.
Anyway, the pin's not in the center. I'll be OK, I think. ------------------ Mike 1985 Chevy C-10 Mike's 73-87 Chevy Pickup Site
