Post How Do I Go About Repainting My Truck?

I have a 1987 chevy s-10 with v-8 conversion. I need to repaint it. I have no idea what to do. What do I need to do from start to finish? Has rusted through in cab corners and above rear wheels the rest is surface rust and both from quarter panels have thier top corners smashed in. How bad does a panel have to be to be unsalvage able? Thanks

Wallysac,

Only way to now for sure on saving a part is to sand it to the metal. I had mine sanded all the way down to metal. I mean the whole truck. The pictures are really neat!! If you plan on spending some money on your paint take your time and prepare the body well. Any defects will be reflected once it's painted.
