33" on stock suspension?
I recently bought a 78 SWB K-10. It needs some new tires, but before I go shopping I'd like to know what'll fit. I'm looking to do some 4-wheelin here in the mountains of CO, and figure some bigger tires couldn't hurt. I'd rather not lift it just yet. I'm not sure what the offset is on the rims I've got, but they look to be about stock. TNX

33's on a stock suspension? You might run into a little rubbing on tight corners. Why not go ahead and lift it 2-4" now? Here's a pic of my truck lifted 4" with 33's on it.

Thanks, I'm thinking about that lift in the future, but I don't have much cash right now (not that buying tires is goin to help out), or much time as I am tied up in the resto of another of my vehicles. Nice looking truck by the way. Mine is sorta rusty, dusty and faded, but it still gets around.
I'm hoping before a lift... that it gets a motor. That '78 350 leaves a little to be desired. But again... back to point #1. Thanks again for the info though. |

i would go with 31's rather than 33's. if you do any 4 wheelin you will be rubbing. turning too. 31's would be fine under most any 4 wheeling or turning though

I have 31" tires on 15x10's. they dont rub at all. I like the look, but I do still plan on lowering it soon. The truck is 2wd too.
