Step Notch with trail arms

Hello all just joined and finding every one so helpful. found so many answers to alot of my questions i have a 69 lwb that i want to bag and I was wondering if i place my air bags in place of my coil springs if a step notch would help any over the bolt on c notches? i want to get as low as i can with out using any link system.

Yes, you can get the truck lower using a step-notch than w/a bolt-in notch. It still won't 'lay-out' if that's your goal & depending on all the variables, the t-arms will contact the frame rail @ some point.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

If you want to keep the trailing arms and go lower you would have to remove the bag from the t/a and put it on the axle, thus adding a bridge kit of some kind

Since your just running plates/cups up front, you really only need the rear ride height to match so run the bags in the stock location for starters. Then when finances allow, move them if desired or replace them w/a different suspension system.

In the stock location (bolted directly in place of the OE coils) & w/lowering blocks; using a bolt-in depth c-notch you'll need to cut a hole in the bed-floor for clearance.

Re: Step Notch with trail arms

i got the brakets for over the axle will just need the ones for the top and some tubing to make a bridge with the notch. the only prob is that the notch is a universal and our trucks tend to have a little curve to them as you all know i ill have to sell mine and buy the right one. any good places yall would recommend?

I've seen one done on here where he used a straight notch and then just took the frame rails behind the axle and put them out wider to match it so it was all straight. Hard to explain, hope you understand what I'm sayin...

I didn't see a adjustable panhard bar in there anywhere, you need this to keep the rearend aligned when aired out.

Good luck, should be fun. I just got my switchbox yesterday, I'm still waiting for the rest of my kit.

Re: Step Notch with trail arms

OK the compressor is a AIM/Chassis tech POS. Its a DC5000 or something similar.
There bags are ok.
Do you want step notches or c-notches?
I have many different designs for upper bag mounts to choose from, LMK what kind you want.

Re: Step Notch with trail arms

i heard that i can keep the factory one that it has but it will hit the bed i plan on putting an adustable one later. i had a one peice drive shaft made for it and i was wondering if the cross member will get in the way.i had to cut the part where the c-bearing goes just to fit it in but will it interfer when i lower it? if that makes sense
