Help me determine value on 72 C10 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm looking at buying a one owner garage kept 72 C10 Cheyenne, 350, AT, Tach, Tilt, AC, Long box, Cargo light, Dealer add second tank, Smooth rear bumper, full hub caps, and Front bumper gaurds. Blue and white. Never wrecked and still original paint. Miles are 100k. Although it looks like a very easy 20k. Picture going to Grandpa's house and seeing this truck in the garage. This truck is absolutly mint inside and out. The inside of the box is like new other than a few scratches in the floor. No canopy holes, speaker holes, antenna holes, and etc. This is a true survivor. No price given, I need to make an offer but need some input from you guys to help determine a fair price for both sides. Thanks

Without seen it it is kind of hard to put a price on it...In my opinion based on what you said I would think 10k-12k for 20k you can get a serious built up truck that would appeal more to me than an original...just my .02.

I love original trucks. I'd rather have an unmolested truck over a modified one any day.

I had one bookmarked on the Phoenix craigslist earlier this year. Very much the same as you describe except it had factory buckets also. It was blue and white too. The asking price was $8500. If I was closer, I would have to have gone and seen this truck. It was that nice.

Right now it is a buyer's market. Classic cars and trucks are not selling for top dollar right now due to the economy. In my part of the country (central Texas) a truck like you describe would go for around $7k-$8k if it is as cherry as you say, and the kicker- it has to be rust free. I do not know what the climate is like where you are at, other than it is wet. Do they salt roads? If so, it would probably make the truck a little more valuable. Does it seem like the guy has a clue as to what he has
? I personally would offer around $4k and see what the owner say.

My brother bought an all original 71 Cheyenne Super 400 BB/ TH400 LWB AC, FACTORY CRUISE (!) dealer installed AC Delco air shocks w/ on board compressor and control, original bronze and white paint, the only flaw was the rockers had a few pin holes starting. He gave $4500 for it and took it to Virginia where he lives now and sold it for $14,000 (!), so it all depends on the particular situation...
