airride on a blazer '75 4wd

hi all,


i'm marcel from the netherlands and own my blazer now for about 3 years.
it's nice one butt still not finished i will need airride and some other stuff to make the blazer compleet.
so now my question are there some compleet sets front and back for my type of blazer?
it's a fourwheeldrive butt i'm thinking to switch it to a twowheeldrive.
i hope you can help me on this, mebay some pics of blazers with this setup will be nice.

Good lookin blazer man..

You would have to custom do it all, I had never seen a kit for a 4x4 blazer. But it you did a 2wd you can get a kit for the front and make something for the back. No one makes an air kit for the back on a blazer. I have looked and looked for a 4 link and could not find anything. Good luck and keep us updated. If you like take a look at my build and you will see how I did mine.

nice to see another nice squarebody in Europe and here on the board!
Lowering a 4wd Blazer will be difficult because of the straight axle in front and the low hanging transfercase! If you find a frontsuspension of a 2wd blazer ,pickup or suburban built between73 and 87 you can use that.Maybe the 4wd and 2wd frontframes are a little different!
The rearaxle should fit above the leafspring with a flipkit!
Your blazer looks cool and the stereosystem promises some serious boom!

thanks for you're respons, hmmm so that's wath i allready wash thinking a hard case!!
the front 2wd axel must be no problem to find i think.
so the rearaxel with airride is not that big problem? or do you advise the shackleflip instead of airride?
annother think howmutch space is there for bigwheels on the rear if it's lowerd? is 10J still possible with let's say tires arround 305?

by the way nice truck you have, how is you're truck lowerd?

Nice Blazer you have their.

I have a 79 4x4 blazer converted into a 2wd with Air ride. It has a 2 link in the rear with shockwaves and a stock 2wd crossmenber in the front with re7's. There used to be a member here that documented a 4wd to 2wd transfer. I will try to find it for you. I am sure it would be helpful.

looks like the rear is minitube how big are the wheels you have instaled?

so for the front i need a compleet 2wd drive setup for the rear i can use the setup with some adjustings?

Yes it is tubbed. It has a narrowed Ford 9 inch with 15 x 14 inch welds 33 inch x 19.5 Mickeys. I believe you can use the stock rear setup with some adjustments. You may be able to use the stock leaf springs as well or some bolt in replacements.

The members Name is sixty8c10 that has the 4x4 to 2wd conversion all layed out for you. I found the thread but I could not fiqure out how to transfer it. Maybe someone will chime in here and help out thats a little better with computers than myself.

the 2wd compleet frontend i allready have found!! so that's great.

if i use with the setup you have used how much room do i have for the wheel and tire setup?

Yep that's it and here is one that will show you how much room you will have. I also have 20" wheels with 295 tires and have room..

you have found the right forums to get all the answers you´ll ever need!
My truck is lowered with spindles and springs in front and an axleflipkit in the back that makes 4 and 6 inches!
I have 10 x15 inch wheels with 265/50 and 295/50 tires!
