!977 Chevy truck.
I was going thru my computer and remembered I had some pictures of my Grandpas '77 Chevy truck and I thought I'd share them with you guys. All of the pictures are clickable.
As I said its a '77 model, He put in a 400 motor. I'm not sure what its got for a transmission. I'm guessing a 350 trans. Anyway, Its a short bed 4X4 got about 180,000 miles. power windows. power brakes, power steering and its got A/C but the compresser went out. it will start everytime. It has a tailgate but he left it off most of the time. It is in really good shape below the doors is rusted out, other then that its almost rust free. These two trucks was at my house for a while. My Dad bought the white '82 Chevy with a bad motor. it was a 250 inline six, with power steering. it was a three on the tree. Then he bought the old '74 GMC it was a four speed in the floor. The motor was 292 inline six. But the VIN said that truck came with a 305 in it. He ended up selling it for scrap. before he did I pulled the transmission. and a lot of other parts too. EDIT: On the picture of the white '82 you can see the only spot of rust on that truck on the fender. it was great inside all it needed was a dash mat which he bought before he sold it. Re: !977 Chevy truck.
Thanks. I love it too. I'm planning to do something I've waited years for. Drive it! I will get to sometime soon. Your right too. He knew what to drive! He was like I am, Chevy all the way. I know I sure do miss him a lot! Well back to the truck, that '77 gets 10 MPG up hill, down hill loaded or un-loaded. lol

Re: !977 Chevy truck.
I seen those mower races on TV a few times, Even though I work on them daily I just have no desire to ride one 50/60 mph....
But, I have thought about building one of these just for the heck of it.....

Re: !977 Chevy truck.
Well I'm only going into the IMOW thats about 30-35MPH What I've run before is fun. I know a guy who has done 91MPH, his name is George Herrin.
You see, I like to be different sometimes. I've always liked racing and I work on small engines a lot, so I just put them both together. I'm also like you I'd like to have on of those 4X4 mowers. I also know a guy who has one of them too. If you ever decide to build one sign up to Heymow.com They are really good about helping people on their projects. |

Re: !977 Chevy truck.
The fuel tank door, the chrome/w black insert body mouldings, and the headlight bezels whisper 1979 to me. Sorry, just musing!

Re: !977 Chevy truck.
Well he'd owned it since '93 and I've looked it over with him before and we had thought the whole front clip had been changed at one time. The moldings your talking about have tiny screws in them on both fenders and we also think the beds been replaced too. Because in some areas you can make out a light blue inside the bed. So it could have '79 parts on it.
