Re: Can anyone I.D. this gas tank?
It looks to me like a '69-'72 Blazer tank, which is what is the popular one to retrofit into these trucks. If it has a rounded indent on the lower back side for the spare tire then it is out of a '63-'66 Suburban. IIRC if it is a Blazer tank you'll need to switch the sending unit to a 0-30 ohm sender. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Re: Can anyone I.D. this gas tank?
Yes, the 0-30 ohm sender is what you need for a 63-66 ...Not sure if it's the same size as the one for the blazer tank.................you might try calling gmc paul and ask him to measure a tank for you to compare......Hemmit

Re: Can anyone I.D. this gas tank?
The best I can tell is the Blazer tank is aprox 1 1/4" deeper than the '63-'66 Suburban tank. The sending unit flange is the same however. Most of the truck parts suppliers will have the 0-30 ohm sending unit for the Blazer tank.
Here's what LMC has, but it doesn't specify that it is 0-30 ohms. It is however listed for '63-'66 trucks. http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/CBE/full.aspx?Page=71
