Tail light fuel filler
*SOLD*
This is something that I built for a board member in trade for some parts, but he changed his mind. The piece of bedside is included only to show what mods have to be made to install it in the tail light opening. It will require some cutting, welding, & bodywork to install, you will need to use LED lights because the bulb bucket has been removed from the light backing plate, and, because you have to enlarge the light opening at the bottom for clearance, you will need to use trim around the opening. For more details on how it is made, click here> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=307943 I'm just trying to get back what I have in it. $75 plus shipping. No PMs, please respond here if interested. The last pic is just to show how it looks finished.

Re: Tail light fuel filler
Interested...can you check shipping to 23112?
I'm assuming there's no issues filling up with the vapor recovery fittings on some gas pump fillers? What else will I need to purchase to make this work? ALso, do you have a final installed view of how you route the fill hose? I read your post and you also mention some issues with it staying closed. Have you resolved that with this one?

Re: Tail light fuel filler
Just saw your edit/questions- I haven't installed my tank, so I don't know how it will work yet, but my tank is a FCG custom, with the filler at the left rear, so I shouldn't have any problems there. I haven't done anything else to keep it closed, but I don't think that it would ever come "open". My main concern is keeping it closed tight so that it doesn't bounce. This could be easily fixed with either a tighter spring, or a magnetic cabinet door latch. If you have the trim, the only things that you will need are the LEDs and fuel filler hose. I used a metal elbow, but if you can find a piece of 1 & 1/2" rubber filler hose with a prebent 90 degree bend, it would make it easier.

Re: Tail light fuel filler
Could you measure the depth of the taillight assembly? I am going to check with Musclerodz and see if his lenses/bezels/led's would work with this. Any reason you don't think it would work? (no outer bezel but the bezel attached?

Re: Tail light fuel filler
Put me in line too! I am trying to add a blazer tank and do the taillight filler. Do you have any measurements on the panel you made and or a side shot of your mockup panel?

Re: Tail light fuel filler
Yes I have more pictures on the 67-72 message board. If you search "tail filler" you should find the thread. Sorry it's taking so long Rob, but I haven't forgotten about you. It worked great at the pump by the way.
