One ton brake rotor differences

I'm trying to order some drop spindles for my crew cab (which isnt here) and I need to know what size the rotors are? is it a year model issue like 1/2 tons? Or am I going to have to drive a 1/2 hour to where it's stored and pull a wheel off the front to find out which rotors I have?

adam,i can't answer your question.but,i can make it more confusing.i don't think all 1/2 ton got the smaller rotor's.i'm not sure of size's,i think there 1 inch and 1.25 inch.my 1/2 ton had 1.25 the larger.it could have been chevy put those on diesel's also as mine was a diesel.i would think the ton's would have the big rotor.but,i'm not positive.if your not in a big hurry one of the 1 ton boy's will know for sure.

Hey Adam. Bolt on a set of ECE's conversion drop spindles. (That's what I was going to use on mine.)
They allow you to install 1/2 ton rotors and calipers without changing balljoints or tie rod ends.
I assume you are going the 1/2 ton route???

I've found (through my research for my current dually conversion) that 71-74 uses the smaller brakes and 75 and newer use the larger. Above that though, apparantly there are several different calipers for these larger brakes.

I'm using an 84 truck as a donor and there are three options for the calipers. Same pads and rotors and spindles, just different calipers.

Did any of that help answer the question ?

No I want to keep this one ton but thanks for the link, are you going 1/2 ton because of wheels selection?

I didnt realize everything was the same with the exception of the calipers. I actually called to order spindles and I guess they are all the same and I just read the ad wrong ha ha.

I'm going 1/2 ton like member OJOE did.
I want the "cushy" ride of a 1/2 ton, and the better selection of drop components. (Some I already have)
