rims
i have a 65 gmc 3/4 ton 4x4 truck , up to what year does the rims fit our year trucks . for example ,- would a 2000 chevy/gmc trucik fit a 65 , . any input would be great . thanks

Here is a set of 1998 Chevy take-offs wheels, tires and caps from my '98 Chevy K2500 and I installed on my '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper lwb fleetside. I purchased a set of 1/2" conversion lug nuts (threads on inside and outside) to accept the black caps on the bowtie caps.
Unfortunately, I am not able to tell you which years are interchangeable, but I know up to '98, at least. Last edited by LILRED66; 01-23-2009 at 07:57 PM. |

I think the more modern wheels 88-98+ have a more (negative?) offset than our wheels- the center is closer to the outside of the wheel, although as per tonys truck,it looks like they do fit

The lugs from my '98 Chevy K2500 are 9/16" and the lugs from the '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper are 1/2", so I had to special order a set of 32 from an online source I found on eBay. the newer trucks have a more Positive offset. I believe this is done on the independant suspension so they can push the mounting plane out a tad to allow for slightly longer control arms and ride quality improvements. a Negative off set is what would be typically called a deep dish or from the lowrider community "full reverse" ( think the wheels that stuck way out that were popular about 10 years ago) Josh

ha ha so it is the negative offset wheels I like, the positive ones remind me of a front wheel drive car..... but I am a child of the 70's and 80's , and that was what was common then.

I got a set off of a chrome 08 silverado. I was going to put them on my 66lwb durring the build. I asked my local tire shop if they would fit and he said the 6 on 5.5 pattern would. I have since gone in a diff direction but they are supposed to fit.
