trans ?s HELP
ok heres the deal im converting my 87 2wd 2 a 3/4 ton 4x4 i have a dana 60 front and a 14 bolt rear with 4:56 gears, for right now it might put a very good runin 305 in it, i know tell me im crazy but money is a issue, i want a mild 350 but that will have to wait! ok i have access to a nv3500 but im not sure if it will last and i dont want a 4spd with the 4:56s and only 33's-35in tires and i also have access to a ford f-350 5spd but i dont have a clue if that would work? so any imput would be very nice lol

I wouldn't touch that NV3500 with a 10 foot pole! They are a very cheesy transmission.

I would say NV4500 but the cost is high. The 4 speeds are a nice trans, but you want overdrive??? NV3500 are too weak... + you will have to do some work getting the hydraulic clutch worked out. And im pretty sure the shifter is far back.

well thats the prob with the 4500 to high!!! and the clutch wont be to bad i have a good junk yard to go to. i would love a 4spd but with 4:56s i cant go that way
