thanks for all the support this site is awsome. the GMC in the backround is my daily driver, hopefully start working on my rear step notch this week any adavice would help. i think im just gonna go buy some 2" strap and form it up my self. not sure where to place my rear bags im thinking mid way up the two link bars with their own cross member. i also wanna box the two link bars and flip their front hangers.

the hood is extra as well as the filler panels between hood and cab complete with 1/2 ton embelems. hood is rust free with a tiny crease in one side, would sell hood locally and possibly ship the filler panels.

need help! HOW DEEP should i make my step notch would like to lay a 65 frame on the ground. i got all my metal today 3/16" x 3". just tryin to save $200.

finally got some pics of my step notch, i have a little bit a grinding left to do. i am looking at air bag systems. best place ive found is suicidedoors, i want to go with thier slam specialties system. but i dont really think i need two compressors and an 8 gallon tank. i just want to be able to set the truck down at shows, when i park it, and maybe to throw some sparks at a pesky tail gator. would like some input from experienced baggers. i also plan on making a three link.
im also wondering if a 2" z in the front is enough to lay frame and keep my stock sterring components, plan on getting suicidedoors plates and cups for the front. as u can see from my pics i was bound and determined to keep that crossmember behind the axle, wich is crooked from the factory. so i straightened it out fully and welded it. i kept it becuase i have a 25-30 galon tank out of a chevy van i am planning to run. i want to be able to drive long distances to car shows and not fill up at every other gas station.

Im going to suggest that you may want the 2 compressors and a big tank. I have a 7gal and it takes awhile to fill with 2 Viair400's. I wanted fast fill cuz when Im ready to go, I want to leave. 1 compressor on that 8gal tank is going to burn out filling it up; depends on how much you want to drive it, I suppose. I read about all the fill rates and asked a bunch of questions before I decided on my components. The only thing better are the Yorks or the super expensive electric compressors....the name escapes me.

thanks for the replies. being that i used flat bar it took me about 18 hours, welding, grinding, admiring. it took 30' of 3in 3/16 flat bar and 3' of 5in 1/4 flat bar for the top. i wanted a little thicker metal for the top. ready to start on my three link. anybody have onfo on my front 2" Z idea and stock steering components?

There are abunch of Z-d frames on here....cant think of any off the top of my head. You may want to hang out in the suspension section 'cuz there's always someone cutting up stuff over there.

ripped my front springs out to set my steering at slammed heigth. i am planning on mounting my tie rod ends on the under side of my spindles instead of on top like factory.
my spindles were really cheap and i got what i paid for because i have to use grade 8 washers to shim to my ball joints and the tie rod holes are way smaller,i need to enlarge them anyway, but they are way lighter than stock. im also planning on a 2 inch Z in the front i think my stock steering should clear once i flip it. i just hope 17" wheels will clear the tie rod ends. if u guys see anything wrong with this set up please let me know its gonna be a while till i can scrape up the doe for my bags. thanks nick also the bottom pic is of the bushings im planning to use in my rear 3 link they measure out just wider than 2". im planning on using 2x2 square tube for the lower control arms.

simple lowering blocks on the rear end. that way the arms stay the same but the rear end moves up.
