Re: Pulled the 6

Is that 6cyl a 292 or a 250? Do you want to use the newer style motor mounts as the ones that are on the 350 already? Or do you want to use the '66 vintage motor mounts? If it were me I'd go with a SM465.....I just like them a little better. There wouldn't be any performance gain from the swap.

Re: Pulled the 6

I owned this viper from 05-07 sold it to a stock market guru he went bust for now .He has burned the tires off it ,all the rims are curb rashed ,1/4 panel has been hit. He called Jan and said he needed to get rid of it. so I bought it back ,Its now sitting in the back of a customer’s body shop .Now the body shop owners trying to make a deal with me to buy it for the summer . If I can dump it I want upgrade to a 2003 the 03s have a nice convert top you don’t have to remove...creature comforts as you get older

Re: Pulled the 6

I'm not familiar with the tranny number 3837334. Is that the SM420 4 speed? If it is, and it works good, I would use it. The SM420 shifts faster than the 465. Both are good and durable, more than strong enough for the pickup.

Re: Pulled the 6

May I ask how you pulled the 6? I plan on pulling mine in a few weeks and would like to know how to do it safely.

Re: Pulled the 6

Always have a couple extra guys that own ya money around to crawl under & unbolt everything. Remove inside floor board trans cover trans .I bought one of them engine levelers for 30 bucks .it’s a lot safer & better than bolting a old chain to the engine .Get a hoist and ease it out. With the front end off its breeze.
