350 air cleaner...

quick question...how tall of an air cleaner can you put on a 350 chevrolet with a medum rise intake and not hit the hood? thank you....

I don't think there is an air filter tall enough to be an issue on our trucks. I've seen SBC's with tunnel rams, (running the triangle Edelbrock air cleaners), all under the hood on these trucks.
I'm running a 4" K&N standard base air cleaner on my Burb with a 454.....plenty of room for a taller one.

And don’t forget the ‘Tin Foil Hat Trick’: Make yourself a wad of aluminum foil and set in on top of your carburator - close the hood - then however much it compresses is your allowable filter space.

Did that on my Chevelle’s motor and picked out the perfect Summit air-cleaner assembly, less the wing-nut (hit the hood) and went with a short chromed fastener instead.

Bingo.
