70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
I found a 70 long bed step side for sale near where I work. It's a 350/350, no A/C, very little rust. It's rough but looks like a starting point. The truck is not what I was looking for but it will work.
I don't know if the step side makes it more desirable or not. I just wanted to know from someone thats knows more then me. |

Re: 70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
This comes down to personal taste. You don't see that many lwb stepside trucks so yours would be a little more unusual than a swb stepside. I have a lwb and it has grown on me and it in all reality meets my needs. Some guys don't like lwb (go figure ) but that's ok. I guess it comes down to what do you like...
By the way...I know enough to be dangerous!

Re: 70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
I'm not a fan of longbed stepsides. If it's not what you want... keep looking.
I settled for a shorbed stepside. 12 years later, I finally have my fleet bed

Some people like short wides, some people like long fleets, and yes some people do like long steps. They are certainly different and you don't see too many of them, but you'll have to decide if it's the truck for you. If you're not sure, it's best to keep looking.

Re: 70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
Thanks for your unsolicited opinion...twice.Now,we all know how limited your view is.
Now,for an answer to the question asked... It won`t be worth more. It`s more about being unique, which doesn`t scare "everyone" off. Some laugh about a Studebaker street rod...until they see what someone with vision can turn out.Definately not for the cookie cutter play it safe crowd, but definately a sought after design.I think you can read between the lines and know my opinion. It`s worth every bit as much it`s longbed counterpart, growing in popularity, and no a bad thing to move on.Dare to be different. Alot of members turned their heads on this simple job: You definately have to be a truck lover to like them.

Re: 70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
Thanks for all the opinions but I didn't ask for any. Special-K and Ricks1971 Thank you for your answers, they helped. The only question I had was if this truck was worth any more than a long bed fleet.
I'm more that able to decide if I like the truck or not! |

I'ld roll in either of these trucks.
The low riders seem to really like long bed step sides. |

I have a longbed 4x4. I'm not sure If I'd want the step but there isn't a chevy truck in this whole world I would call ugly based just on hearing the options. Some of those longsteps look really nicel!

I'd take that truck in a heartbeat! Any true truck guy who knows what he's looking at would certainly appreciate that one. Who cares what the rest think...right? Let me know if you ever decide to sell.

Re: 70 Chevy long bed step side, WIW
They are not worth more. But they are not very common anymore. Buy it, be unique in your crowd.
I used to have a 70 long step. I loved it. If you decide you dont like the bed you can always find a fleetside bed.
