Hi Folks I just purchased 66 C10 shortbed(283 Automatic Trans),I was wandering if there are any other year trucks I can rob a radiator from,like later models maybe.Any help or suggestions are appreciated

Most later model trucks have crossflow radiators that are too wide to fit in the '60-'66 trucks. Some of the OEM radiators that can be adapted to fit are Impala's up thru '66 or '67, '67-'69 Camaro small radiator, '64-'67 Chevelle, '68 & '69 Chevelle small radiator, '62-'67 Nova, and '68-'72 Nova small radiator.

One of the more popular radiator swaps are the Summit Racing universal aluminum radiators. ChiefRocka did a writeup on his install here somewhere......I think there were one or two others as well.

I put in an aluminum radiator that I bought off of ebay. Just measured the size I needed and found one close enough to work. I can check the measurements and take some pics if you'd like. I made my own mounts by basically going to home depot and using some thick L brackets. Spent something like $160 for everything I think.

O'Reillys sells a "near-perfect" three core with auto tranny line connectors (minus the HARRISON embossed on the right side of the top tank) for around $200.00 and it works great with the bottom saddles and rubber cushions, as well as, the factory top radiator brackets & rubber cushions

I got one from Summit. I went to a sheetmetal shop and had him bend a top mount for me. Looks like this.. Now I just have to refine it a bit so I can get some rubber under it to go between the radiator and the top mount.

I think it was this one http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku but mine might be wider. I did remove the battery box and that made more room for me to put in a bigger radiator. If you don't need a tranny cooler they are even cheaper.

Im running a '91 chev PU crossflow in my '60 with a 305 auto. It has been in the truck since 1994 and the truck never overheats. I installed the 91 rad. shroud and a clutch fan from a '77 Malibu. Rock solid 195° or less.

thanks for the help fella's was in St. Louis today and found one that looks like its going to work fine, measurement are very close,out of a 64 impala he thought (20.00$).Great swap meet.Thanks for the help

That's a clean install.

I just got a new alum. rad from speedway 2 inches thick 26 inches wide for $140.00 but you will need a seperate trans cooler

I have found that a number of things from 62-64 Impalas fit well. Congrads on the score. =)
