Progress pics on the 48 s-10 swap

Got a little work done today on the 48. Brake booster and pedal are in place as well as the s-10 fuse block. Wiring should be easy enough.

Looking good. All you need now is a Task Force in your fleet.

Thanks. Its just rattle can flat olive drab. I would rather have some carc paint like the hummers have. I should have got some while I was still in. I drove hummers and amtracks, had access to a bunch...oh well. 98 cent rattle can will work for now.

Re: Progress pics on the 48 s-10 swap

I cut the horns back to about the steering box. Didn't measure it. They were cut back when I did a body drop on the s-10. traded the s-10 body off for some other stuff and bought the 48 cab and a complete 51 truck.

Re: Progress pics on the 48 s-10 swap

Easiest place I found to figure where to cut the horns back to....

If you look on the underside of the frame just infront of the steering box, you should find a 1/2" hole. About 1/2" or so infront of that works well. I cut and boxed mine ahead of time and ended up cutting them right back to there and noticed that the same hole was in the exact same location on both sides.

Not that it should make much of a difference but I'm working my body drop the same is Jeffs51chevy... so about 6-8" off the ground at the back of the front fenders.

Cheers,
Ted.
