Re: My 1965 build thread
Hate to say it but if the clear is fresh you could sand it blend the color back then reclear.. That spot in ther rear may be hard to see when blended.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Have you figured out the run situation yet Alan? You going to take a lot of tedious wet sanding and try and not go through or sand it down and re clear?

Re: My 1965 build thread
Man, Allan, the more I read your thread the more impressed I am with your skills. Your painting is outstanding. I had a run similar to yours in a door, luckily, I could use a block to sand it our and keep it level. That one is in a tricky spot since the panel is concaved. I know that you will make it right!
Really digging your colors. You have insired me to work on mine again and to get my shop started. I think I asked before, but what size is your home shop?

Re: My 1965 build thread
Allan, I've been gone since Friday. Man your getting some work done. It's coming out really good. I like the color combo even more now, Fish Eyes, and runs suck. Don't they have a tool to shave off runs? Then color sand them out.

Re: My 1965 build thread
No matter how big your work area is it will never be big enough.

Ok here is the process I went thru in sanding out a run. It took me about an hour taking my time. In that amount of time I could have sanded and recleared. Then there is the materials cost. I've still got 3 more to work out. What would really suck is sand thru on the last one. With this process it can still happen, but not as much. This is what I used. there are other products that can be used. Apply it sparingly. It takes along time to sand it off. This a small block I cut from a large paint stir stick. I used 1000 grit and went over it with 2000 prior to buffing. Sanding progress Mini air powered buffer Buffed but still needs a little more.

Re: My 1965 build thread
I had a container of that in my hand after our pm's. I think the glaze is what I really need to use. Thats a good use for it cutting those runs down.

Re: My 1965 build thread
keep it up!! I saw a trick on tv to use a razor blade perpendicular to the surface and scrape the run down then you can sand to smooth it out, then buff.... any thoughts?

Re: My 1965 build thread
Alan,
I know what your saying about the rep points...but we can only spread so many during the 24 hours or only so many on a thread... So, take it from someone who can't wait for your updates on your rig and I hope I'm not speaking for myself but I enjoy and learn so much from your post. rep points or not...... So it's not the rep points, it's the veiws to your thread you should be aware of. over 53,000, that's way more than Joe and his steak... I meen we are all still waiting on the update on the cabinets.... Thanks Alan
