Which length output shaft TH 350 is closest to a 3 speed manual in length? Do you need to add a cross member for the trans mount or can something be welded onto the park brake crossmember? I assume I'll have to remove the bellhousing mounts from the frame. Thanks for any replies.

I believe you would remove the bellhousing mounts. Both my trucks were originally floor shift standards and that stuff was long gone by the time I got them. I dont know what length trans would be close to the standard trans. I would beef up that support if using it for a trans mount...my pickup had it done that way by the PO and I ditched it. Plenty of reasonably priced trans crossmembers out there IMO.

Are the output splines the same for standard and auto? I would figure the driveshaft would have to be re-done anyway.

I don't know if this will help but I used a short tail shaft TH350 and did not have to cut my driveshaft. I don't remember anything else about it, it was about 10 years ago or more.

Thanks, I have a cross member from a later model truck. I'd like to stick with the stock e-brake setup, but I'm not sure there is enough room for both. I'll have to measure a case to see were the mount lines up. Does anyone make pre-bent cooler lines for a TH-350/downflow radiator combo?

Original Parts Group (in Seal Beach, CA) does, but I would advise against it. Just went through that and while the lines are bent correctly - the fittings going to the radiator are incorrect. I had to cut them off and plumb with rubber hose.

Not worth it. Wouldn't do it again.

Better to buy a tube bender and some brake tubes and do it yourself - IMO.

What was wrong on the fittings for the radiator? Could the fittings in the radiator be changed?

Has anyone reused the 3sp. column shift column to shift the automatic? I thought I saw someone do this before.
