Front 3"spindle drop?????

i haved install a set of DJM front 3" drop spindle.

My ? is what do you do with the brake hoses they hit the top of the upper table.
My solution is to reverse the caliper and the lines, left to right and right to left .

I never got any info with the kit for this problem.

I installed the same spindles on my 77 scotts, while mounting the caliper I routed the flexible part of the brake line towards the inside of the upper ball joint. The brakes function properly.



Also I had to reshape the top of the spindle on both sides to run a 15 in rim. While the truck is still in the air mount the rim and give it a good spin to see if it clears, if it doesn't you'll need something like this.

Thanks bud for the pics, for wheel clearance no problems their .id tried to bend the hose but it was to much and its leaking now. there must be a different hose that will fit and have better clearance?

No you will have to bend them, and as far as I know that goes for all drop spindle brands.
It's prolly time for new brake lines anyway, but I'm suprised it broke as little as they need to be bent.

Is this install of these a bit more complicated than others because it's a 3" drop rather than 2" or 2.5"?

I ran into the same problem with my 2.5" spindles. It was time to replace the brake hoses anyway so i bought a set of flexible braided stainless hoses. I had mine made at a local Brakequip dealer. I got both hoses for about $53. The stock rubber ones were $40. The braided stainless ones worked perfectly.

I ran into the same thing with my 2.5 drop spindles, i just bent them a little bit and it was good but i also had to shave a little bit at the top of the spindle to clear for 15in. Rim.

I also had to grind on the DJM spindles I had to make a 15" wheels fit, plus bent the brake lines about an inch.

The Mc Gaughy's 2.5 drop spindles didn't need any grinding, but I did have to bend the brake line on the driver side, and just a tiny bit on the pass side.

Usually on a 2" or 2.5" spindle there is no need to grind. It is mainly on the 3" spindle going on a 15" rim that you need too. It's a very common issue. As stated above I would just buy new hoses anyway, and just bend the bracket a bit to clear.

well thats what i did, got new lines and bend them a bit ,for the clearance for my 15" rims none at all its clears perfect

Cool, you must have gotten a better set than most of us have.

I tried to bend the hard lines so they wouldn't rub on anything if there was any movement, and that prolly is something to check up on from time to time.
