Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off

My first K5 was a graduation present my step dad bought new, so it still had the owners manual. The top wouldn't budge after taking out all the exposed bolts so I broke out the owners manual and found out about 'the hidden two'. I took them out and was in business. I kept them for a while, threw them away when I realized I wasn't going to bother with them again.

I've had two K5's since and didn't have to bother, but I suspect those two bolts met a similar fate. Who knows? But I'd bet from at least '83 and up they were there from the factory. No telling when they started...

I am just to lazy to put all the bolts back in,got one on each side only.
tvblazer cool setup. My garage sucks,One car garage that when I do park in there I usually have to get out on the passenger side. But when the top is off I just jump out the back. My wife doesnt really like to get her nails scratched helping me either.

I've had my 87 for going on 5 years and still haven't had the top off. I'd really like to get a soft top for it but $$$ has been too tight.

Not busting the cap off the K5 is like going to a strip joint and not getting a lap dance - you're only half committed.

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off

My K5 won't fit in the garage so I have to figure out another way to get my top off next summer. I don't have any big trees or anything. Ideas ???

a carport made with 6x6's in the ground and 2x8's as crossbraces. you could ratchet the top up with straps...so far, its my favorite idea and would double as a place to keep the blazer out of the sun and rain
