1rst series door glass replacement
I just took my door glass out of the frame to replace with a new set. when i removed the glass from the metal trim I noticed the old glass has a gasket around it to keep from scratching and rubbing the metal trim. My question is where do I get this replacement or can I make my own? Has anyone else here ran across this and can offer me some advice?

Re: 1rst series door glass replacement
I'm having trouble figuring out what y'all are describing.
Is this on your 50 GMC? And this the door glass, that gets cranked up and down? And you're saying that there is a gasket around the perimeter, the sides and top edges of the glass? If so, I have never seen such a gasket. It could have been added by a po. These trucks had the window seals in the door. Only rubber attached to the glass was the set tape used to hold the glass in the channel at the base. Can you show a photo?

Re: 1rst series door glass replacement
I believe that the gasket you refer to is the "set tape" that Fred T mentioned. that should be a standard glass shop item.
