305 possibilities?

Look I know its not the best choice but right now it's the only choice I have at this time. Thoughts about rebuilding the 305. Thinking about punching it out .30, adding flat top piston's, good maybe 260 - 280 cam, angle grind the heads add better springs and valves and see what happens. I already have edlebrock manifold and carb, hei dist, the engine has a 350 crank and has headers. So I do have interchangable upgrades for a 350 just do not have the 350.Being I have the 305 complete and I should be able to make around 300-350 hp that would probably be good for now until I get my 71 swb back together.Trying to keep the machine work and parts around 1000 - 1500.I will do the rebuild myself.Thoughts anyone?

get a 350 !!! there is no reason to build a 305 !!! you can buy and build a 350 for a grand !!!! why spend 1k on a 305 ?

Re: 305 possibilities?

305's aren't as bad as most guys think IMO. That plan sounds like it should run pretty well. However you're certainly not going to win any races. I assume that's your intent since you posted in this forum?
