I am in Venice, Ca. He is in the City of industry. When I do get my truck back, how the the hell do you think I am going to flat bed it? I have AAA and they have flat bed my ride before. You think they would do it like that pic above? I did a lil research also. He is on this forum "spankycffc" he has a truck for sale. I think that it is gone or sold. Cause I never saw it. I just called to police, they said I had to go out there and then call them. I have so many pictures of progress.

Sound like what a CH would do. Get the police in here ASAFP !!!!
I don't think so.. I mean he was pretty normal... I have text msg from him for oct, 4,2008.

It is just so crazy, I can't believe how cool I was to him. This is killing me.. I wanted that truck since I was a lil kid, and now see a truck like mine and I get pissed.. The worst part is my best friend has this \|/ down stairs that I have to look at everyday: and I got mine first.

I really appreciate all your guys support on this. Its nice to have friends that feel the same about our trucks as we do. Its so much more than just a truck.

I just spoke to shop owner. He said that I could go out there a take a better look. I am going to take a more pix. So you can tell me how F_ed I really am.

Re: Help!! Need advice.

Get a paper trail started......... take a cop.It will help you if you file a report if the shop owner wants to help you might get him on fraud and larceny charges depending on how much is missing. But you do need to get that report or you wont look all that innocent in a court. Just a thought..................

Re: Help!! Need advice.

get the LEO report for formality but dont hold breath - did you have a contract? if not not a lot to do legally
but rent a flatbed trailer from your local equipment rental yard and grab a friend or three (especially if the owner is hostile) and go get whats left of your stuff
also def recommend speaking to moderators on this and hamb forums to help post/warn others in the area

good luck

Re: Help!! Need advice.

I would take that a hole to court and sue his a$$. Cost $50 to take him to small claims. A hole like him probably wound'nt even show up. Ether way you would win. Getting your $$ might take awhile. If he ever gets a real job you could garnish his wages. Or you could just bat his a$$. That would probably feel better.

Re: Help!! Need advice.

So.. The nightmare continues..

I went out there yesterday morning. I got up at 7, got a couple buddies and 5 ton truck. Drove 45 min to the shop and open the doors and the it all was, well kinda was. I got most of it out in about two hours, thanks to my bros. The biggest problem was getting the frame with the motor and trans and tires on the 5 ton. We used some go jacks to move it around and got the front end on the tailgate lift and the back up with a forklift. It was really hard!!

There was so much missing, the cluster, no windshield the head lights, I could on and on with the lil stuff. But must of all the big stuff was there. So we get it all on the truck and now I have the a new problem... I don't have any place to take it. I had to get it out of there before the owner of the shop sold everything off.

So I am make a ton of calls and I am back home with it all setting in the 5 ton. Finally I got a lead from a buddy that had a garage for 2 bucks a month. I had no other choices, I got a bunch of buddies together, cause I new I did not have the forklift. And took it over there. It was pretty small, but we got in all in at around 1:30 this morning. Getting the frame off was one of the hardest things I have ever done, with 7 guys. I will post the pix of the garage later. Here are some of the 5 ton. I really want a place so I can work on it all myself, have a guy come out to get the frame all fixed and go from there. My truck was so cool before this F*^KER killed it, but is time for me to bring her back to life. I want to paint it myself. Just need room, so I am looking around for spaces on criagslist. If any of you guys know if any spaces around LA let me know. I am going to need a lot of help from you guys to get this back together

Re: Help!! Need advice.

You did the right thing to reclaim your truck. Stay on that bandit till he either comes up with the rest of your parts or cash.
Things will get better now that things are under your control. Your truck will get put back together and you will move forward. One day at a time.

Re: Help!! Need advice.

......glad you got your truck. This story does suck, but now its time for a plan. Sit down and figure out a plan and stick to it. Post up a pic of how you want your truck to be and stare at it every day until it is sitting in front of you. Put together everything you can yourself and only farm out what you have to.....

What your experience has been is everybody's worse nightmare. Even though I'm sure you are pi*sed off and disappointed, I'm real glad that you haven't given up hope for your truck. I am 100% with protrash64. Draw it up, and stare at it until it becomes real. Best of luck.

Glad to see you got your truck back. It's better if you work on it yourself anyway. The money you'll save will more then pay for your garage. If you need anything just let me know.

Re: Help!! Need advice.

My heart aches for you man. If I can hijack this thread for a few I have some comments. I have been told that I have the patience of Jobe. However, if a shop does not deliver on time , or within a reasonable extension of time, it is not unreasonable to DEMAND a completion date.. If that date cannot be given or if not met, all bets are off. Go for them with a vengence!!! I say this having many friends over the years who are life long mechanics. Sometimes **** happens and a job can not be done on time. It happens to all of us. In those cases, they should tell you so and make every effort to finish your work. Anyting else is a reflection of how much they appreciate your business! My two cents worth.

Re: Help!! Need advice.

And the saga continues..

First off. I wanted to say thanks to all you guys for everything!! I don't care what it takes. I am going to make this truck everything I wanted.

Now I have to figure out what to do first. I am going to start a build thread in a couple days. Just want to get a good place to work on it. I went through all my parts and what not. I have about 95% percent of everything. I got my bags my valves and all my lines. So I am kinda happy about that. I just don't have a lot of the blots to get it back together. That is going to suck trying to find all each blot..

What I think I am going to do is get the frame, engine and drive shaft all completed and painted black. Then move to to cab, get the cab mounted and painted. Then the bed and so on. I am also going to paint it myself.. O yea.. I don't know anything about painting
