Wichita area body & paint
Its time to get started on the body of the 72. Was wondering if anyone knows of a good shop in the Wichita, Ks. area. If you know of a bad one let me know that also. Someone on the board recomended someone from Garden Plain but I lost the info when I switched computers. Thanks ......Stroker

John, for now I need to get some body work done but I may take you up on your offer down the road sometime. I'll probably have to space the work out somewhat and pay as I go.Thanks....Stroker

I have my 72 in right now at A1 Truck, in Valley Center.
He just got started on it this week. I'm going out there sometime this week, to see the progess. You wanna meet me out there you could see mine in progress and Steve's (the owner) project truck in progress. You can PM me if you want to. I think you replied to my other post...He's putting in both corners, both rockers, patching floor, and cab supports. |

Don't know how far out of Do-Dah you are willing to go, but TDS on the south end of Winfield does some nice work, and they are Chevy truck guys to the bone. Emet painted my truck, and Richard has also done a few around here. Both of those guys are 67-72 fanatics, and Tom, the owner, is also into trucks. Tracy Focht is having them paint his truck in the near future, as in any day now. Good guys that do good work IMO. PM me if you want some more info, LB.

I've been doing business with Luper's at 37th & N Topeka for years. My 69 is in there right now getting a fender bender fixed. Vince, the owner, has his own 67 burb in there right now. Should be a good time to get some work done, the body shops around here are hungry, thanks to the aircraft slump.

A1 Truck is a good place. I bought one of my shortbeds from Steve (I know him by his nickname though). He always has a 67-72 layin around and usually has a ton of parts for them.
He's a hot rodder, and he'll do a great job. Odds are you'll fall in love with something he's got laying around. LOL. Hey Hugger, what day you going to VC? Mind if I tag along? I haven't seen Trim in a couple of years. |

Bummer, I had back surgury and just got back online today.
Hugger, you just PM me the next time you think your gonna go and I'll meet you there. I'll even bring my digi-cam and maybe my laptop. The only sticking point will be my back. Right now I can walk (like a hunchback, LOL) about 5 feet. But I should recover quickly..... just don't know how quickly. I have a doctors appt. the 11th so I'm assuming I'd be better by then. |
