5.3 and 4l60e question
im about to put a 5.3 in my truck and 4l60e transmission but the tranny is a 4x4 trans what do i need to make it 2 wheel drive just take the transfer case off?

As far as I know you have to change out the tailshaft in the transmission. To my knowledge that involves tearing the transmission completely apart, the shaft is the first part to go in I think. I had to do this to my 700R4 in my 72'

yeah, it's a PITA to make a 4x4 tranny a 2wd
I got a 4L60E from an LS1 powered Trans Am for mine. |

ah i was just wondering this guys sellin a complete 2001 gmc truck for 500 bucks but its 4x4

that would be worth it, but I'd try to find a different tranny.
