e-brake question
Does any body know where I can get the spring that goes in between the front e-brake cable and the rear cable that causes the handle to spring back into the disengaged position on a 62 stepside? I cant find in in any of my catalogs.
Or does any body now how to fix one? It doesn't look like it broke, it just detached from the truck at the rear of the spring. It may have just bent. |

Re: e-brake question
Is it the same as a '63?? I have 63 setup that I don't intend to re-use. Post a pic.

Re: e-brake question
Here are two photos. The hooked side is the end that goes toward the front of the truck. The almost straight end goes toward the rear and is the side that came unhooked. I do not know how it is supposed to look. I also don't know if it is the same as the one for the 63.

Re: e-brake question
Looks like the end is just pulled "open".
The spring rate is determined by the gauge of wire, the tightness of the coil, and the number of windings. Look for a spring that replicates those factors and you will be close enough. OR, take a torch and heat the end, reshape it into the correct hook shape, and re-temper it.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the original end is supposed to look like?
