Sure...change out the crossmember, and redrill some holes.

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
While doing the swap you should go ahead and step up to the 73-up front crossmember with discs....

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
Yeah, if you're going to all that work why not upgrade to discs?

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
I think I miss-read your post, the 60-62 frames are different, but I believe all you have to do to swap in a newer cross member is drill some extra holes on the 60-62's

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
yea i was at a friends shop yesterday and he has a 74 crossmember with disc brakes and i could get it at a good deal on it so i was wondering if the 62 frame is narower because of the torison bar suspension or if its the same width....

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
The frames are close enough that it will work
several on here have done it you can even get aftermarket 6 lug rotors that fit the 73-up, if you don't want to swap the rear end

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
yea im planning on keeping the 12 bolt but i was reading on another thread that some spacers had to be put between the crossmember and frame

Re: '63 suspension on a '62
yeah it is like anything else, take it with a grain of salt
I have heard many more people say they had no problem bolting it up than the ones saying they used spacers. the frame will also flex some, so I wouldn't be too worried about a 1/4-3/8 of an inch difference...that is just me on our '66 with a mid 80's cross member, when I pulled the cross member loose the frame kinda sprang out a bit...seems to be the same as most everything on these trucks...there were allowable tolerances from the factory.....no factory vehicles are perfectly the same
